• Fall session Science Club from 3:30-4:15 pm. Please pick up your student promptly or they will be checked into the After School Program and drop-in fees may apply.

Wednesday

• Both Campuses:
• Early Release Day @ 1 pm (every Wednesday)
• College Shirt Day (Students may wear any college shirt with uniform bottoms if they desire.)
• Teacher In-Service: Data Meeting @ 1:30 (Rustin, Room 5)

Friday

• Both Campuses:
• Spirit Shirt Day (Students may wear a spirit shirt with uniform bottoms if they desire. Shirts available for purchase in the school office.)

Hello Wonderful Families,

We are in need of durable headphones for our computer center. I will be purchasing a set of 8 headphones for our class. The total cost for the set of 8 is $119.00. If you would like to contribute towards this cost or purchase a set of these headphones it would be greatly appreciated (below is a link to the headphones). Hello REACH Families,

Please be advised regarding a few upcoming events:

• Coffee with the Director on Wednesday, September 21 has been cancelled but has been replaced for this month with Dessert with the Director on Tuesday, September 20 at 5:30 pm.

• Science Club notifications should all be sent home by tomorrow afternoon. Please check your student's backpack to find out which session (Fall or Spring) your student will be attending, and also for any Science Club fee balance due. Fall session will begin on Tuesday, September 27.

• Student Awards Assemblies will not begin until October.

• Soccer and Art Clubs will begin in October. (More info will sent home in the next couple of weeks.)

• Students may bring their own device to school starting October 3 but parents/guardians must watch a short video and sign the technology agreement first. A link will be sent out via email no later than September 30.

• 6th Grade Field Trip permission slips went home Friday. (See flyer below for more details.)

Spelling City and Pearson update:

I have been working to resolve login issues with Pearson and Spelling City. All usernames and passwords should be working (passwords and usernames on blog). Please let me know if you have any trouble. Thank you!

-Bookmarks with AR levels for reading at home (they also have one at school)
-Dessert With Director notices
-Science Club permission slips- all kids who turned permission slips in were admitted to either the fall or spring club!

As promised, this week I will only enter proficients and advanced scores. In the future I will not post results, this was my response to your concerns regarding spelling words expressed at Back to School Night.

Those celebrating Eid, September 12th, will have excused absences. Free dress will be allowed on 9/13 for those celebrating the holiday.

Per request at Back to School Night I have updated the homework page. Thank you for your feedback. Here is the edit:

Please check your child's backpack daily after school. Additional practice in any subject may come home as needed. I do send classwork and sprints home, which are not homework. Homework will have the word "homework" written on the assignment. Sprints (math fluency) are a cornerstone of Singapore Math. At REACH, classes complete them daily (as your students did last year) and are designed to challenge each student. Please do not be concerned if your student does not finish the drill- it is likely no one will all year. They are not graded and do not need to be completed at home. Sprints are for personal best, to improve fluency speed, and for fun- the class loves them!

I have created assignments in Pearson (pearsonrealize.com) for the first ELA unit, which is 5 weeks. For those of you who requested extra homework for your students, these are their assignments. Ask and you shall receive! This is new for us, so let me know if there are glitches. Have a wonderful weekend! Usernames and passwords are on the "online resource passwords" page of this blog.
